Unbroken Praise
(Matt Redman)

Worship Beyond Words (Part I)

LYRICS (Click to minimize)

Praise unbroken
Praise unending
Be Yours, be Yours forevermore
Praise untainted
Praise unfading
Be Yours, be Yours forevermore
Be Yours, be Yours forevermore

Unbroken praise be Yours, God, forever
All my praise be Yours, God, forever
Lord, take this life, let it become Your throne
Unbroken praise be Yours

My surrender
My devotion
Be Yours, be Yours forevermore
Be Yours, be Yours forevermore

Unbroken praise be Yours, God, forever
All my praise be Yours, God, forever
Lord, take this life, let it become Your throne
Unbroken praise be Yours
Unbroken praise be Yours

So let my deeds outrun my words
And let my life outweigh my songs
Let my deeds outrun my words
And let my life outweigh my songs

Let my deeds outrun my words
Let my life outweigh my songs
Let my deeds outrun my words
Let my life outweigh my songs

Unbroken praise be Yours, God, forever
All my praise be Yours, God, forever
Lord, take this life, let it become Your throne
Unbroken praise be Yours

Unbroken praise be Yours, God, forever
All my praise be Yours, God, forever
Lord, take this life, let it become Your throne
Unbroken praise be Yours
Unbroken praise be Yours

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)

Christians often talk about worship. We go to worship on Sundays. We listen to worship songs in the car. We host family worship services on Christmas. But what is worship, exactly?

Worship is not merely an activity but a lifestyle! Musical worship is not the only form of worship. Listening to the Word is not the only form of worship. Reading Scripture is not the only form of worship. Now, of course, these are all essential and indispensable forms of worship in which all Christians must participate, but worship is so much more. Worship demands not merely our time, but our whole lives!

After all, God demands our lives as living sacrifices. Truly, it is difficult to die for Christ, but living for Him may be harder still! It is no easy task to live every moment of each day in constant worship, but it is the task to which God calls us; and God will equip us to do His work!

Spend each moment dearly with God, dear Christian. Of course, we cannot always be singing, nor consciously praying. But a life of worship means that we are constantly in the communion of the Triune God. We do everything for Him and through Him. We think every thought for Him and through Him. We say every word for Him and through Him. This is a life of worship.

Indeed, we will fail every now and then! But let us remain faithful to our task, relying on the mercy of our Lord. This is a worship that is done with our souls and our bodies. One is not complete without the other! Our spiritual worship will present itself in our bodily worship, and our bodily worship must present itself in spirit. Only then is our worship complete.

Spend time today to pray and dedicate your life once more to the Lord. May every word, deed, and thought be part of our sacrifice to He who is worthy!
